Abstract
This collection contains ephemera related to baseball's world tours of 1888-1889 and 1913-1914. Albert Goodwill Spalding initiated the first world tour in 1888, taking his Chicago White Stockings and the All-Americas "'round the world" to bring baseball to an international audience and promote the Spalding Brothers' business interests. On the tour's twenty-fifth anniversary, Charles Comiskey and John McGraw took the Chicago White Sox and the New York Giants on a similar tour. The collection...
