Scope and Contents

A collection of interviews on 54 microcassettes and one DAT tape cassette created by Larry Moffi between December of 1992 and September of 1994. Interviewees include Alex Grammas, Andy Carey, Bob Cerv, Cal McLish, Carl Erskine, Dave Philley, Del Crandall, Frank Thomas, Gene Woodling, Marty Marian, Mel Parnell, Milt Bolling, Roy Sievers, Tito Francona, Vern Law, Vic Power, Virgil Trucks, Minnie Minoso, and Larry Doby.

Biographical / Historical

Larry Moffi is a widely published poet, author of The Conscience of the Game: Baseball's Commissioners from Landis to Selig, This Side of Cooperstown: An Oral History of Major League Baseball in the 1950s, and co-author of Crossing the Line: Black Major Leaguers.

The audio cassettes are located in cold vault storage and must be acclimated before delivery to the research room.

No materials were removed during accessioning or processing.

Processing Information

Audiocassettes were placed in acid-free boxes and sorted with the rest of the micro audiocassettes in the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum's Recorded Media Archives.
