Scope and Contents

From the Collection:

A collection of materials created and/or compiled by Dr. Lawrence Hogan in the writing of his book titled, "The Forgotten History of African American Baseball". This collection includes correspondence, research notes, newspaper clippings, and articles. Also included are photocopies of photographs used in the book, and a Negro League timeline, 1839-1931, compiled by Larry Lester. The newspaper clippings are primarily from the Chicago Defender and the Newark Evening News. Box 2 includes folders of what appears to be exhibit scripts for four panels, undated.
