Scope and Contents

A collection of souvenir programs, yearbooks, and brochures relating to national and international baseball halls of fame and museums. Nationally, these are halls of fame and museums of major league teams, minor leagues, Negro Leagues, colleges, and individual players. There are also state museums and various organizations. The international series includes the countries of Canada, Dominican Republic, Japan, Taiwan, Latin America, Mexico, and Venezuela.

Biographical / Historical

To celebrate athletes and their sport, museums and halls of fame were established. These also celebrate the culture of that sport and its country. Museums can be founded by businesses, governments, owners of a sports franchise, or a sport federation. Museums can be dedicated to a specific sport, a specific athlete, or muti-sports.
