Ephemera collection
Scope and Contents
A collection of ephemeral items, organized into 27 different subjects. Subjects include professional and amateur baseball leagues, teams, and players. Also includes spring training, regular season, post-season, and All-Star games. Other subjects include Negro leagues, women in baseball, international teams, scouts and scouting, passes and credentials, and lineup cards.

Conditions Governing Access
Materials are open without restrictions but viewing materials does require an appointment. Please contact the Giamatti Research Center, research@baseballhall.org, 607-547-0330.
Conditions Governing Use
The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum provides use copies of materials to facilitate private study, scholarship, and research. Biographical / Historical
According to the Society of American Archivists, ephemera is defined as "Materials, usually printed documents, created for a specific, limited purpose, and generally designed to be discarded after use". Ephemera includes such things as advertisements, tickets, brochures, passes, and receipts. A repository may collect ephemera as examples or for historcal preservation. Individuals often collect ephemera as mementos or souvenirs because of their association with some person, event, or subject.

Materials were placed in archival sleeves as needed, acid-free file folders, and either document boxes or flat boxes.
