Biographical / Historical
During the mid-1990s, when the television station, WKTV in Utica, NY was undergoing a change in ownership, the new owners decided that the area of the facility that was being used to store films and tapes created over the course of the history of the local television station by the station's employees was needed for studio expansion. The new owners ordered that the old films and obsolete recording media should be destroyed and these recordings were placed into a dumpster. That night, the donor rescued as many of these historic films from the dumpster as they could and stored them at home.
