Scope and Contents

This collection consists of newspaper clippings and articles on players who played for the New York Yankees or the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1956. The interviews give the researcher insight on Don Larsen’s perfect game during the World Series. The first draft manuscript is longer than the final draft and some of the excised material may be of interest to researchers. Also included are 44 micro cassettes and interview transcripts conducted by Lew Paper between 2005 and 2007, transcripts conducted by Peter Golenbock on behalf of Paper in 2006.

Biographical / Historical

Lew Paper graduated from Harvard Law School in 1971. He has held a variety of positions in the private and public sector during his career. His articles and book reviews have appeared in numerous publications, including The New York Times, The Washington Post, The New Republic, and The American Scholar. He has authored five books, one of which is titled "Perfect: Don Larsen's Miraculous World Series Game and the Men Who Made It Happen", published by the New American Library, September 29, 2009.
