Scope and Contents

This collection is comprised of official programs in English, Spanish, Japanese, and Chinese. There are team rosters, tournament schedules, scoresheets, and game reports. Post-tournament 2009 magazines and newspapers in Japanese, with color photos of their winning team, which includes Ichiro. Japan won in 2006 and 2009, Dominican Repulic won in 2013, and the USA won in 2017.

Biographical / Historical

The World Baseball Classic is the premier international baseball tournament, sanctioned by the International Baseball Federation (IBAF) from 2006 to 2013. After 2013, it was sanctioned by the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC), and operated as a joint venture between Major League Baseball and its Players Association. The Tournament features the best players in the world competing for their home countries and territories. It previously coexisted with Olympic Baseball (until 2008) and the Baseball World Cup (until 2011) as IBAF–sanctioned tournaments.
