James C. Gilruth Scorebook collection
Scope and Contents
These scorebooks cover home and away games of the Chicago White Sox and the Chicago Cubs. Also included are Spring Training, World Series, and Chicago City Series games. There are a few amateur games between the Glen Ellyn Post and various teams, such as the South Shore BBC, West Chicago BBC, and Shamrock's BBC. There's a game between the Sheriff's Office and the Assessors' Office. In 1907, there's a forfeited game between the Cubs and Cardinals, with the umpire claiming the Cubs did not have nine men on the field, but Gilruth notes that this is not the case.
