Baltimore Orioles versus Cuba collection
Scope and Contents
A collection game-related items between the Baltimore Orioles and the Cuban National Baseball Team. The games were played in Cuba in March 1999 and Camden Yards in May 1999. Collection includes lineup cards, scoresheets, media guides, and media information packet. Also included is a scorecard between West Palm Beach Baseball team and the Havana Cubans dated April 21, 1946, not scored. There is a media guide for the Almendares Baseball Club, 1952-1953, and a Cuban Professional Baseball League program, 1958.

Biographical / Historical
The Baltimore Orioles played the Cuban National team in Havana, Cuba on March 28, 1999. This was the first time in 40 years that a Major League team had played in Cuba. On May 3, 1999, the Cuban team played the Orioles at Camden Yards. Officials from the National Baseball Hall of Fame were present at the game in Cuba and returned with a number of artifacts, jerseys, baseballs, tickets, scoresheets, and posters. Also included were a few items dating back to 1946 and the 1950s.
