Ashland Negro Baseball Hall of History collection
Scope and Contents
This collection, formerly known as the Ashland Collection, is comprised of 213 individual files on those who had an association with the Negro Leagues either as a player, executive, journalist, etc. The content of each file differs depending on the person. The remainder of the files relate primarily to the Negro Baseball Hall of History, correspondence, reunions, and statistics. Also of note is the Effa Manley scrapbook and photographs.

Biographical / Historical
Prior to the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, founded in 1990, there was an attempt to open a museum dedicated to the Negro Leagues, called "Negro Baseball Hall of History" in Ashland, Kentucky, in the early 1980s.

Processing Information
Items were placed in archival sleeves where needed, acid-free folders and document boxes. Fragile and oversize items were placed in an oversize envelope.
